Life Lessons from Camp

Sheep and Goats
About two years ago one of our neighbors gave us two lambs. One was black and the other white. Lambs are cute and cuddly, even the black ones.
We did not have a separate field to place them, so we put them in the field with the goats, where they continue to this day. Recently, while sitting under a shade tree I noticed something interesting. Even though these critters are sheep, they were acting like goats.
Then I realized what had happened. These sheep had never been taught to act like sheep. All they had ever known was how goats acted, so that is what they did.
The life applications are endless. If you allow your kids to live with the "goats" of this world and never teach them how "sheep" are to live, then don't be surprised when your kids act like "goats". Instead, be certain who your kids "run with". Be certain that your kids are not exposed to inappropriate behavior.
Don't let your kids learn how to become "goats".
